Principal researchers

Lisa Cannon Albright, Ph.D

Dr. Albright is a professor in the Department of Medical Informatics. She is Principal Investigator of our current NIH grant for collection and linkage study of high-risk Utah melanoma pedigrees. She was also PI of previous melanoma grants which created the current Utah pedigree set used to map and study p16.

Sancy A. Leachman, M.D., Ph.D.
sancy.leachman@hci.utah.edu
Dr. Leachman is a dermatologist and molecular biologist who serves as a Co-investigator for the current NIH project. She is also medical and scientific director of the Tom C. Mathews Jr. Familial Melanoma Research Clinic, the grant’s primary clinical resource.

John J. Zone, M.D.

Dr. Zone is the Chair of the Department of Dermatology at the University of Utah School of Medicine. He is a Co-investigator on the current project and was a PI of previous melanoma pedigree studies.

Nicola J Camp, Ph.D.

Dr. Camp is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medical Informatics. She is a genetic epidemiologist with significant experience in linkage and association studies of multiple different disease phenotypes. She provides oversight for all genetic analysis activities on our current grant.

Scott Florell, M.D.

Dr. Florell is a dermatologist and dermatopathologist with a K23 award to investigate the nevus phenotype in high-risk melanoma kindreds through the Familial Melanoma Research Clinic at the Huntsman Cancer Institute.

Laurence Meyer, M.D., Ph.D.
Meyer@derm.med.utah.edu
Dr. Meyer is a dermatologist, geneticist, and geriatrician who has been involved in familial melanoma research since the 1980s. He participates in the Familial Melanoma Research Clinic.
