Company Profile and ServiceXS' relation with GenoMEL

ServiceXS offers innovative services in the field of molecular genetics and applied genomics. Our key expertise is in the field of microarray technology (DNA and Peptide arrays), SNP-discovery, SNP-typing and assay development.

In the Network of Excellence (NoE) project, entitled "Genetic and environmental risk factors for melanoma", ServiceXS will perform a genome-wide association study in order to identify new moderate to high penetrance melanoma susceptibility genes.

Melanoma cases with enhanced risk on the basis of family history, early age of onset, or the presence of multiple primary tumours will be screened using either Affymetrix 250K Mapping arrays or Illumina's whole-genome genotyping arrays. The candidate SNPs identified in this association study will be validated in a case-control study of 4000 Melanoma cases and 4000 control individuals.
